Mustafa Uzun
IT & Technology Consultant · Software Engineer · Pilot

I am a computer scientist (Dipl.-Inform., FH). Since my studies I have worked on systems built to run in regulated environments. Under the Uzun Digital brand I advise on strategy and concept — and then build it, for clients in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
From 2009 to 2014 I held product and project responsibility at Lufthansa Technik for systems around maintenance, cabin operations and in-flight entertainment — where software meets regulation, documentation duties and safety culture. Before that I had built a test automation framework at IBM Germany.
I have been flying professionally since 2015, on the Boeing 777 since 2023. The cockpit teaches a way of working that transfers to software: procedure before improvisation, redundancy instead of hope, and the habit of planning for the failure case before it happens. For larger undertakings I bring in specialists from my network — accountability stays with me.
My standard is to understand my clients' business, not just their software. That is why in 2021 I sat the examination as Certified Insurance Intermediary (IHK) at the Cologne Chamber of Commerce — a qualification nobody expects in my line of work. Knowing how a contract comes about, which duties attach to it and how a sale is remunerated leads to different systems than only ever seeing the database behind it.
Focus areas
Architecture & systems integration
Designing systems that consist of many parts and stay observable regardless: interfaces, data flows, runtime behaviour, failure paths.
Software engineering
Web applications, APIs and backends — cleanly built, documented, maintainable. Focused on systems meant to run for years, not weeks.
Cloud operations & delivery
Continuous delivery, monitoring, scaling. What goes live has to still be maintainable two years from now.
Cryptography & encryption
Encryption, secure transport and key management as part of the architecture — not as an afterthought.
AI & automation
Language models, process automation and semantic search — embedded into existing systems rather than bolted on.
Aviation, MRO & insurance
Processes, evidence trails and documentation duties in regulated industries — environments you don't get to know from slides.
